How to Remove Shortcut Virus from Pendrives

You may have aware of this virus for sure. This virus converts all your files and folder stored in your removable disks like pen drive, memory card, etc. into shortcut icons. This virus just hide all your files and folders and will show shortcuts of these files and folders. So there is way to retrieve your all valuable data without deleting of any files or loss of the data. We are going to use command prompt to solve this issue.

Follow the steps bellow to recover your data:

• Please connect your infected removable drive (Pendrive). Make sure it is detected on your PC.

• Click on "Start"   and enter "Run" .

• Now type "cmd"  and click "Ok".

• Now enter this command: attrib -h -r -s /s /d g:\*.*

(Note: I'm assuming your Pendrive as G. If your drive letter is not G then replace g with that letter.)

• Now press "Enter" . That's it, all done.

Postscript: Now download or purchase updated antivirus and scan your whole PC to remove this malware completely from your Computer.
